MA, Marriage & Family Therapist Associate
Hello! My name is Ernest Likins, a Marriage & Family Therapist Associate dedicated to supporting LGBTQ+ clients to come back to their bodies and into their innate ability to heal! Together we'll discover your parts, understand their message, and move together towards your fullest sense of Self.
I work with queer and neurodivergent individuals, couples, and families who seek to integrate the pasts, and liberate their interconnected futures. Some of my areas of focus include:
Working with me involves humor and humility; kindness and candor; being goofy and genuine.
I create genograms with all new clients. This intergenerational map of where you've come from helps me understand what family norms you were born into, and enables me to see you in your life context at the start of our work.
I am heavily influenced by Experiential, Somatic, and Humanistic theories of change. I also regularly work from both DBT & Trauma-Focused CBT lenses. Feel free to ask me about this!
In addition to my MA in Family Therapy and my BA in Somatic Psychology, I maintain numerous memberships to QT professional organizations and contribute to the field as often as I can. As an Associate, I receive ongoing supervision with Erin Mahone LPC #C7329.
Outside of work, I enjoy bike rides, time in the garden, snuggling my orange cat (a regular Zoom guest!), and quality time goofing around with friends.
